Messer to Build New Gas Plant in Hefei to Strengthen East China Presence

Shanghai, May 9, 2025 — Messer, the world’s largest privately owned specialist in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, has announced plans to build a new gas production facility in Hefei, Anhui Province. The new facility will support the growing demand for high-quality gases in the electronics sector and further enhance Messer’s supply network in East China.

On May 8, Messer signed an investment agreement with the Management Committee of Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The project covers a planned area of approximately 26,000 square meters and involves an investment of RMB 340 million. Phase I of the project is expected to go into operation in the second half of 2026. The facility is designed to serve the manufacturers of G8.6 generation AMOLED display with gases supply and related services.
